The Berry Patch: 2018-Present

I am a co-owner and a board member of one of Minnesota’s oldest and most successful pre-schools – The Berry Patch – in Edina, MN.  There are few better investments society can make than early childhood education.

World Vision: 2001-2008

I moved with my young family to Lusaka, Zambia with World Vision during the height of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and had the immense privilege of being part of a predominantly Zambian leadership team that trained and supplied more than 15,000 Zambian Home-based caregivers who were the front line in caring for the both the sick and dying and the orphans who had been left behind. 

More than doubled the USAID/PEPFAR investment of $57M investment with private resources effectively doubling our reach and impact.  Managed visit of First Lady Laura Bush who highlighted our work as a Flagship US Government program for HIV/AIDS response.

Cargill: 1997-1999

Selected to be on the first team at Cargill that was tasked with integrating several business units under a new brand (Cargill AgHorizons) and moving them from being primarily transactional to being truly customer and solution focused.  This work became part of the blue-print for one of Cargill’s most impactful transformations that led to record performance and profits.

Professional Leadership Coaching

I have professionally coached other CEOs/Sr. Leaders finding great joy in helping leaders live more purposeful, balanced & integrated lives.

Travel & Retreat Leader

I have organized and led 75+ trips for hundreds of leaders, families and friends to all corners of the globe engaging in topics and activities ranging from learning about food security in Kenya, entrepreneurship in Uganda, or HIV/AIDS in Zambia to leadership development while mountain biking in Utah, heliskiing the Tetons, running the Grand Canyon or rafting the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho.

Family

Far and away the best work I’ve ever done is getting to be husband to Molly and parent to three amazing kids and now young adults – Kenzie, Clara and Bennett.  (and now grandparent to sweet Emma Louise.)
